Don't know. I do know it's a joke here in Sweden among uninformed and it's prevalent on the Internet.
I know in France they make fun of the Italians who lost to Ethiopia and surrendered quickly rather than fight many of the battles against the allies. The French surrendered quickly to the advancing Nazi army, but they had just come out of a war that had cost them 1 million men, one that required 80% of able men to fight, with half directly sent to the Front. Seems to me there ought to be some context to the situation.
It would be like saying Americans couldn't fight a war after the smack down in Vietnam... it's ridiculous.
The rest of you who wish failure on Cathie Wood for your own failures only wish you could put up ARKK levels of performance.
I don't envy her performance.
What i don't like is her constant pumping, a few months ago she said her fund was going to $400 in five years time. She is still staying that.
It might eventually go to $400 but there is a good chance it could crash down to $40 before it gets there.
She deserves some ridicule and schadenfreude for her constant pumping on TV.

It's what some traders do question success of others who outperform them thinking it's unsustainable. Why would a successful fund manager be "in trouble" they can shift their funds any time they want to and have a lot of customers. Even if the funds correct, they can serve a purpose because they represent a certain portion of the market and it's an easy way to participate in that portion. For instance, I can buy EAGB if I like Biotech and it's got no Tesla exposure.
It's an unfair stereotype, admittedly, grounded in most foreigners having only a very high level idea of the western front in WW2 ("the French surrendered"), whereas if you look at the details individual French soldiers fought bravely in a desperate situation, e.g. enabling allied withdrawal at Dunkerque. While I do think this stereotype is funny, I would probably feel slightly offended if I was from France.

The Foreign Legion as the name implies, is mostly foreigners and French citizens with unsavory past. The legion expunges a man's history and gets them a new French passport after a number of years of service. Many mercenaries are either ex Legion or joined it. They fight France's covert wars and have few rules to abide by but the strict ones of the Legion.
Check the stats. 58,000 dead Americans vs well over 1,000,000 Vietnamese (North & South). She is so annoying. Just ignore her bullshit storytelling and buy 2x qqq, and voila, your return will be the same.
