Is calling for genocide protected by free speech?

Saw these Palestinians near me they were making typical Palestinian foods for friends and it was kibbeh, grape leaves, hummos.....like every country in the middle east has that shit.... There are those foods in Lebanon, Syria, Israel, Egypt etc... so I dont buy the cultural appropriation of food bit....

Public or private schools cannot remove a group unless they point to some policy or univeristy infraction to support it or risk getting sued....not a first amendment issue. If Uni decides to ban BLM group because donors hate and nothing more than BLM group can say they were banned for no reason and go through an administrative process.

BUT...none of this is 1st Amendment case per se. denying a group to speak on campus who properly follows the rules could raise 1st A issues. But then again if a specific regulation is cited or threats of violence are there then the school crosses the threshold needed to control speech.

well, except Israel's like 80 yrs old and the middle east been there forever so calling it "israeli xyz" is like calling tacos "american tacos". Except w/o the genocidey aspect,

as to the 1st:
I just disagree. I think there's clear conflict when prayer's allowed in public schools as a "1st amendment" constitutional right and voucher programs for private schools are allowed to collect government cash while enforcing their own speech guidelines. I see private unis collecting federal financial aid w/their own guidelines as the same hypocritical conflict.

The day of reckoning is coming for these extreme liberals on the left engaged in hateful speech and actual violence directed at other races. Their days are numbered. As the world becomes more and more integrated, most good paying jobs will come from abroad. Their lack of skills and nasty attitude ensures they do not get accepted for those good paying jobs in the future. Those worthless degrees of theirs, they can burn. When you work for a foreigner as a boss, all these BS attitudes, nastiness, hate will not fly. Remember too, they check your social media.

I never venture into this forum, but I'm at a loss for truly trying to pick a side here. We have all seen how University CEO's were grilled about their policies of calling for the genocide of Jewish people, and whether this is considered free speech. From the clips I saw, all the CEO's didn't answer directly, and if forced, they said it depends on context, etc.

My twitter feed was filled with calls to fire them all and that this was antisemitic, etc. The thing is that these posters aren't the traditional democrats. I thought my twitter feed was mostly free speech advocates, etc. My gut feeling is that any speech should be protected. If you don't like what someone is saying, stop listening to them. Clearly lots of people right now are in the camp of saying kills all Jews, and just as many are in the camp that say to kill all Palestinians. The common thread seems to be that most people are ok with saying to kill other people, as long as they get to choose who.

When it comes to this whole Isreal/Palestine issue, I side with nobody. Hammas did a shitty thing by attacking innocent Israeli citizens, and now, 10 times as many innocent Palestinians have been killed. Sure, all these people would likely kill Jews if given the chance, but what do you expect when you've been oppressed at the hands of Israel for decades? So I could never say I support one side over the other when everyone is out just to kill each other.

But my original question, so I can get a bit of perspective, should a university not always stand up for free speech? A direct threat is of course a different matter, but the expression of an ideology, no matter how flawed, I would think should always be allowed. The issue isn't so much that some people are saying it, but more so that so many people want to listen to it, or act on it. So in a way, I almost support the universities here. If they take that stance that they will squash any mention of genocide, it will be a free speech slippery slope.
No, calling for genocide is not protected as free speech. ---Free Speech as The Founders intended, referred to political speech, nothing else.
