  • As investors fled Brazilian assets, the Bovespa stock market index fell nearly 5%, while the Brazilian real slumped more than 1% vs. the dollar; prices of bonds tied to Petrobras also fell.
  • ETFs: EWZ, BRZU, BRF, EWZS, BZQ, UBR, FBZ, FLBR
  • Shares of Brazil's biggest power companies also fell after Bolsonaro told supporters that he planned to "stick his finger" in that sector too: EBR -2.2%, ELP -5.6%, UGP -7.4%.
  • Shares of Brazilian banks were thrashed: ITUB -9.3%, BBD -7.8%, GGAL -6.9%, BSBR -5.8%,

I guess when extreme liberals praise these south american lunatics, they're doing so because of the "right-wing" qualities of the socialism. Or something.
 
Not him specifically. I know little about the guy other than he is - or rather was - a populist defined leader for Brazil. I know you hate the guy for his COVID stance, which makes me instantly suspicious of anything you say about him. But he could be a clown for all I know and care.

I just laugh whenever these dictators come to power in South and Central America and put very clear socialist policy (economically) in place, and then you see liberal actors praise them, and the left tries to claim they are right wing fascists once everything falls apart.

This may or may not be the case for this guy. Again, I don't really care.

Liberals confuse/conflate "right wing" and Fascism. They don't realize that Fascism is actually extreme Leftist. Like always, "accuse others of what you are or are doing".
