Is anyone trading the Nikkei 225 Mini?

Quote from kiwi_trader:

The multiplier is only 100 ... isnt that 500 yen per tick?

Hi Kiwi, yes, but it moves in 5 tick increments. So I was trying to clarify, whether it is 500 Yen, or 2500 Yen.

Quote from no. 22:

N225 mini is 500 yen/tick.
Singapore is 2500/tick.

Hi, thanks for the info, No. 22. That's even better, almost as same as YM. But margin is way cheaper than YM.

Just want to say thanks for bringing this up... I was unaware of the mini contract. I've been papertrading the SGXNK contract the past few weeks, and I really love how it moves so orderly, much like the ES, probably due to such a high tick size (5 points). It's nice to know I can jump in with much less capital at risk with the mini. I guess the disadvantages are an additional data subscription through IB, a higher comission to tick ratio than the SGX contract, and slightly shorter trading hours (less pre/post market time vs. cash index). But if you have an edge and the discipline to trade it, you should still be profitable, and you can work your way up to the big contract. Thanks again!

Look at STW and SPI as well.

Nicer behaviour even than the NK and reasonably priced (STW 10 per point, SPI 20 per point).

I am thinking about dropping HSI for these two now that its gone from a bit wild to toxically behaved.

I trade the Nikkei225 Mini here in Tokyo. Many mentioned
that it's also traded on Simex. I haven't looked lately, but isn't
that the fullsized Nikkei and not the Mini? The fullsized Nikkei has always traded at 5 yen per tick on Simex.
