Is active trading a viable job for an individual?

Yes, we don't really "compete" with anyone. We develop trade plans to take advantage of rhythms in the markets. At times when these rhythms are not present, the savvy trader waits until they reappear...and they always do.

BY - have you gotten your wife permission yet? do you like to bet on thing aka gambling, lottery, betting on horse racing,... just checking if you have the natural "psychological makeup" or (inclination) for day trading?

Whatever makes you feel like your not wasting your time. Tell me again how much you have made trading the past 52 weeks? I would bet my left nut you have outperformed the snp, let alone even broken even. The market is completely random on a short term intra day basis. Support and resistance are slightly repredictable, so it seems, but still not predictable enough to outperform the market using these indications.

Then again if we are making money, you won't hear it from us. The last thing we are going to do is tell and brag. ;) So I am pretty comfortable with people's general perception that only 5% of the traders succeed.

I liked marketsurfer. He’d tell it how it is. What happened to him?

As far as I recall, Mr. Surf left the forum because it no longer "suited his/her" needs. I think he went over the top when he posted supposed pictures of himself eating greasy cheeseburgers in his $200,000 Porsche or whatever.

He's here, alive, thriving & kicking.

From the pictures he posted and I saw, he drives a Maserati Ghibli. Price is 2.5 times cheaper than that $200,000 Porsche. And I think he bought it second hand as it came from Europe if I remember well.
