Is a trader's path lonely?

This is my view:-

We are all more lonely than we were 20 years ago. Mobile devices, internet connections, and social networks have made us to be lonely pretty much all the time.

Maybe trading is worse, as you are normally executing your trades alone, but other jobs are meant to be for single people alone at home as well.

When young, no one wanted to talk to young kid who new nada, so went on my own way. Took many years to learn to scalp. Even longer to develop Grails, all on flukes. Once you discover how to seldom lose, internally you are of great joy and want to share, but luckily you snap out of it. Become more lonesome.
Saying goes "it is lonely at the top".

If you are smart, never post your picture.

Lonely.....

Very lonely.

Either I talk to the wall.
Or write something in the forum.

Be careful if you chit chat.
You have to concentrate, and stay focus on trading.

I understand you, that's why it's good to participate in a forum where there are people who like practically the same thing. Walls are good friends too

I am from Europe but only trade during the US session.

This means i have plenty of time during the day before i start trading to go out and get social, i would assume you could do the same when you are done?

You start very early so when do you usually call it a day and stop trading for the day?

I end my day at 12:30, but when 11:00 arrives I don't even find many opportunities so I just follow along. Maybe I'll go out at that time to socialize, or whatever. Maybe taking a trip to Thailand would be good too, getting to know different people and cultures is great.

I was never much of a day trader, preferred swing trading.
The best 10 day stretch years ago, I made $190K, triple leveraged TQQQ or maybe it was CURE.
I'd insist to my wife we had to go to a restaurant on Friday, a nice place.
That's when I realized my trading made me similar to a mobster.
You can't talk about it to anyone except similar traders (or mobsters :finger:).
If you don't work in a B/D, nobody else understands.
My wife (of 35 years) doesn't even want to hear the details, just the P&L.
You are not imagining the loneliness.
It is there for most traders.
%%
EXACTLY;
unless one is in the 25% that enjoys splendid solititude.:D:D
IF eating out, prefer a booth in corner................
And if the waitress SCREAMs ''THE WATER IS FREE!!''
We took the hint + asked for free water but did not drink much city water LOL

You're very right not to talk about negotiations with people, I'm going to start looking for other ways to talk about what I do, maybe I'll say that I'm a salesman, I buy and sell things haha. I think this is good for security too. I think I'll use the forum more to talk about negotiations. Thanks for the comment!
