Is a Bloomberg worth it?

A good thing with Bloomberg is the ability to gain access to analysis and estimates from banks you have a relationship with. But it's so right; the charts looks like they're from 1992 and it's got this DOS-feeling...

so what is the verdict? is bloomberg worth it? I am a remote trader looking to add to my trading. I mostly trade pairs, but not oppossed to making money off news stories.

I applied for the free trial yesterday. So far no word from them.

I hope their news service is better than their customer service!!!!
 
Bloomberg is by far the best and least expensive professional software. All asset classes, all global exchanges and global news, terms & conditions, unbeatable analytics and models...w/ mobile access.
 
One way in which BBG IS worth it is reliability and lack of compulsory upgrades. Banks with real money on the line are not in a mood to screw around with stuck quotes or a non functioning compulsory upgrade.


I waste alot of time looking for workarounds for crap data and broker programs that don't work as they are supposed to, don't get fixed when they are broken and have compulsory upgrades that eliminate functionality. I also have wasted time programming for stuff that changed or became too unreliable. Yes, I know, you get what you pay for but if I just got that it would be a huge improvement.
