IRS Has Lost More E-mails . . .

You're utterly certain what the truth is, so why ask for anyone's input?

Because I would like to know whether you believe the IRS is hiding something or not. Why is that such a tough question to answer? I think you do believe the IRS is hiding something, but you just don't want to throw out something that could possibly be seen as going against your team in any light at all.

No matter how obvious something is, if it goes against your team, you have to do all you can to offer a defense. And when it's rather obvious there is something wrong, you hide from admitting it.

New Records: IRS Targeted Progressive Groups More Extensively Than Tea Party

So the IRS lost emails that would prove they were not targeting conservative groups. Right. Makes perfect sense.

WOW!

So you mean the IRS, the agency that is under investigation and deleted all the emails of the person who claimed her right to refuse to testify and then said the hard drive was destroyed and the email backup company was fired despite the law saying the IRS has to maintain backup of these emails is providing data to "ThinkProgress" that shows they investigated more left wing agencies than right wing ones, so that we'll get off their back?

Holy Jesus on a Motorcycle, Batman! It's gotta be true!

The only thing surprising is that you, or ThinkProgress, expects anyone to believe anything at all that comes from the IRS as anything other than a complete pile of bullshit.

Must have been on a different hard drive.

Who cares what I believe? You appear certain the IRS is hiding something.
i don't know all that much about this scandal, but you have to be a kool aid guzzling fool to think these emails disappearing is just an innocent coincidence. Lerner was called before Congress, only to plead the 5th after pronouncing her innocence. Then her hard drive crashed, and I guess all the servers her emails were stored on crashed as well, and I guess the back up storage drives did as well, and none of the data could be recovered.. lmao that anyone could believe that. and let's not forget this news only broke like a week ago, over a year after the iRS told Congress they would turn over the emails, meaning they had them. now they magically don't, pfft pleeease.

The irs could turn over every document they have, but it's all irrelevant because they are not what Congress is looking for. The only thing I don't get is why it's taking this long for them to act and subpoena the documents from the company who backed irs data up, or why they can't just walk into the IRS and demand the IT guys retrieve the emails from their own servers.

this is indisputable evidence of a govt gone wild, bureaucrats that don't even answer to the elected officials who have authority over them.

I doubt that any of this or anything else matters. Voters are going to vote for who they are... without regard to candidates. Blacks and Hispanics will vote Democrat (Repubs are thinking they can garner the Hispanic vote with Amnesty legislation... likely wrong), those who protest "income inequality", gays, single moms, etc... will also vote Democrat, regardless of the transgressions of candidate... that should be enough to carry the vote in any election. Nobody of the parasite class cares any longer about "the American dream" or "opportunity without the government up your ass"... all they care about is their monthly subsidy check.

That is, THE PARASITE CLASS WILL VOTE FOR MORE PARASITISM... REGARDLESS!

Hope I'm wrong, but as the parasite class has only recently achieved >50+% of the vote, we'll likely know conclusively over the next general election or two.

:(

I agree totally with this. it is a reflection of the democrats, liberals, the media and the universities success at turning America from the Constitutional republic set up by the Founders into a typical third world country where tribalism, envy and class hatred are the predominant themes.

We saw in the Clinton impeachment that democrats had turned the corner from decency and respect for the country to raw partisanship. They haven;t looked back. Obama may have been the high water mark so far, but I doubt he will be the worst. He is just establishing one troubling precedent after another for abuse of power.

It's not like republicans made any of this up. We know for a fact that the IRS targeted political opponents of the administration, that they repeatedly lied about it and tried to blame it on low level staffers in Cincinnati, that the Treasury employees union had close and frequent contacts with obama, that Lois Lerner has a long track record of targeting conservative groups while at the FEC before going to the IRS, that she took the Fifth rather than testify openly, that successive IRS Commissioners either lied to or willfully misled congress, that they hid from congress for months if not years the supposed loss of records,

What exactly are the republicans supposed to do, say "never mind." Just ignore all this misconduct, which is not exactly unprecedented for this administration either. We certainly know democrats ran a president out of office over less. They tried to get Reagan and Bush over a lot less.

It's not like republicans made any of this up. We know for a fact that the IRS targeted political opponents of the administration,

And we also know the reps are ignoring the evidence that the IRS targeted political supporters of this administration more.

that is an independent point.

the mens rea for this crime is not excused by saying... but we also reviewed the applications of other groups.
the mens rea of targeting the political opposition has already been admitted.
the mens rea to impede an investigation and destroy evidence is not excused by saying but we also reviewed applications of other groups.

There is a very serious crime and a very serious coverup... after putting the criminals in jail the only remaining question is how high it goes.

Note...I suggest to the criminals they start cutting a deal now... cause it looks to me like they might not be named or charged til after Obama is no longer in office.
Hence, the risk of no pardons and the risk of some truly severe sentences.

And we also know the reps are ignoring the evidence that the IRS targeted political supporters of this administration more.

here we are investigating the issue that the IRS targeted the adminstration's poltical opposition. we already know they did as they admitted it, Lerner took the fifth and now there is an email coverup.

You can't excuse criminal behavior by saying... but we doing similar behavior not at the behest of the administration.

I'm not excusing the behavior.
