IRS Has Lost More E-mails . . .

Initially it was Lerner's computer that crashed causing the loss of emails (nevermind the fact that email service is server based, not pcs) now comes word that more people involved with the targeting lost their emails too!

It’s not just Lois Lerner’s e-mails. The Internal Revenue Service says it can’t produce e-mails from six more employees involved in the targeting of conservative groups, according to two Republicans investigating the scandal.

The IRS told Ways and Means chairman Dave Camp and subcommittee chairman Charles Boustany that computer crashes resulted in additional lost e-mails, including from Nikole Flax, the chief of staff to former IRS commissioner Steven Miller, who was fired in the wake of the targeting scandal.

The revelation about Lerner’s e-mails rekindled the scandal and today’s news has further inflamed Republicans. Camp and Boustany are now demanding a special prosecutor to investigate “every angle” of the targeting. They expressed particular outrage that the agency has known since February that it would not be able to produce the e-mails requested by the committee yet did not apprise the committee of that fact, and they charged in a statement that the IRS is attempting to “cover up the fact that it convenient lost key documents in the investigation.”

If Lerner is the central figure in the scandal — Oversight Committee chairman Darrell Issa said Monday evening he believes she was the senior-most official involved — Flax may be an important auxiliary figure. E-mails produced in response to a Freedom of Information Act request from the group Judicial Watch show Flax giving the green light to Lerner’s request to meet with Department of Justice officials to explore the possibility of criminally prosecuting nonprofit groups — at the suggestion of Democratic senator Sheldon Whitehouse — for engaging in political activity after declaring on their application for nonprofit status that they had no plans to do so.

E-mails uncovered by the committee last week showed that, in preparation for her meeting with the Department of Justice, Lerner and one of her advisers transmitted 1.1 million pages of data on nonprofit groups, including confidential taxpayer information, to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, potentially in violation of federal law.

EMAILS ARE NOT KEPT ON PC'S! Emails are kept on servers and accessed from PCs.

As I've been saying, it's an orchestrated cover-up.

They can't actually be this stupid can they?

The email traffic between these folks must incriminate Obama for them to try such a massive and obvious lie because people are going to go to jail.

What was Watergate at it's core? Simply put, it was the attempt by the Nixon administration to sway an election by targeting the democratic opposition through illegal means. A very serious crime.
What is the IRS scandal? It was a successful attempt by IRS employees to sway an election by targeting republican oppostition through if not illegal, unethical means. The two primary questions are, why would the IRS employees do this and would they do it without instruction from the Obama administration?
There is no logical reason for the IRS to just decide one day, hey, we want to support the Obama administration. What's to gain? They're in power regardless of who wins the White House. Why risk your job when your job is a lock either way? To believe that these IRS operatives would simply act on their own defies common sense. Of course, this is the crowd that actually believes telling a tech savvy nation that e-mails are lost forever and ever will actually fly as a statement of fact. That the IRS has no computer back up. That the IRS has no way to retrieve old information.
The worst aspect of this entire scandal is that the MSM refuses to pursue the evidence. This is what happens when biased "journalists" decide it's their job is to defend the power of government, rather than question it. This is what happens when the press chooses a side, rather than remain a neutral watchdog defending the nation at large, not just their personal interests. This is not a free press. This is a press that is bought and paid for.

The IRS has put the media in a box. Every person under the age of 70 or so knows that the "crashed computer" excuse is a lie. Worse than a lie, it insults the tech savvy of a nation of people who derive a good bit of their self esteem from being tech savvy.

Obstruction of justice is a serious felony that people go to jail for. You can ask Martha Stewart. I would argue that even making the claim that the emails were lost constitutes obstruction, if in fact they reside on backup servers somewhere. If they don't exist on servers, then that raises an entirely different set of questions that end in obstruction of justice charges.

You're foaming at the mouth for nothing, the IRS targeted progressive applicants for examination more than they did conservative applicants.

The reason I think it's an orchestrated cover-up is because it seems unlikely the IRS would come out and say -- over a year after being asked for the emails -- that they're gone unless they really are. Which could only happen if a coordinated effort was undertaken to make them disappear.

An alternate possibility is that they have them somewhere but won't let them "be recovered" unless the heat gets turned up high enough. But that may never happen (and the IRS knows this) given how dysfunctional our country's become (e.g., the lamestream media in Obama's corner, the apathetic and uninformed American sheeple, our cowardly and FUBAR congress, etc.)

Rectum's diarrhea of the day... this is nothing but pure liquid feces.
