Thanks are due to Tom Udall for recognizing that the fix for Citizens United is to amend the constitution. Something I have harped on for a long time in these forums. You have to fix the First Amendment with another amendment if you want to get money out of politics and return government to the people. Sadly the amendment has no chance via the Senate Route. But there is an alternate route that could succeed.
 
Shall we also get the democrat money out... like union money... we could also take back our states....
I would then be all for it.

Congrats to Propublica on another one-sided and partisan story. Ironically Probublica has become a "dark money organization" itself.
Really, read Washington Post or Politico and it is clear BOTH parties are in an endless game to write the laws and use the existing ones to maximize their advantages with collecting and hiding funds.
Look at any sober political science journals and they clearly conclude both sides are doing it.
Read Propublica and this really perverse and partisan story, along with the entire series, is all about criticism of the way the GOP works this game and none about how the Dems do.

My brother in law belongs to a large union where the membership routinely votes about 60:40 to give large chunks of his dues to Democrat candidates. They vote 60:40; and do they give money equally or even 60:40? No. All to Democrats and only Democrats. Essentially about 20,000 Republican members of his union have a millions and million in their dues given to the Democrats because 25,000 union members who are Democrats voted to only fund the DNC. Does propublica want to cover that? Essentially a forced private tax going to campaigns on one side?

Does Probublcia ever mention Sorors' moveondotorg, a non-profit and how its activities are obviously political? How about the President's new C4?
 
Moveon isn't Soros. Your confused. Soros is always very open about his ideas and to what causes he gives his money. You won't find any George Soros led organizations applying for 501c4 so they can hide their contributors names. Soros is the world's most prominent philanthropist. Go to the web and you will easily find everything you would want to know about George Soros' Philanthropy and Political activities..

Just because George Soros writes a check to a political organization does not mean he controls that organization, nor that he approves of everything that organization does. He strongly opposses dark money in politics. You wouldn't know Soros contributed to a dark money political organization if he didn't reveal that he had made a donation. Think about it!

Certainly one of the most important foundations in the world to anyone interested in freedom from repressive governments.
 
You can find out for yourself what Propublica mentions by going to their website. It is very wide ranging, "non-profit" investigative organization and investigates political wrong doing throughout the political spectrum.
