It's unfortunate that a formerly respected LE organization, the FBI, now appears to be merely another arm of the administration, bending to its polticla will whenever necessary. It was bad enough when the scandals involving the FBI labs came out, which confirmed the fact no one can trust any aspect of government. If the venerable FBI labs were compromised, what else could we trust? Certainly not the IRS or Justice Department, two more arms of the obama machine.
In my opinion the FBI, like the CIA and the whole DHS mess, needs to be radically shrunk and decentralized. They are a threat to us both because they are too large and because they are too incompetent.
As for the IRS, the Founders were wise enough to envision this type of standoff with a criminal administration and they gave The People's House the weapons to combat it. Under the Constitution, all appropriations must begin in the House. The republicans could cut the IRS' budget as punishment unless the agency starts cooperating. Of course, that would take courage and the ability to make a compelling case to the public, two things the republicans lack. The party leadership is not all that upset about he IRS harrassing Tea Party groups, truth be told. In private, they woudl probably admit they wish the IRS would keep it up.
