I'm actually shocked at how this whole thing is playing out. You have what appears to be peaceful, although annoying, protesters getting bullied by police and arrested, even professors. What we really have is many fundamental freedoms at stake here.
I don't think the protesters should be shutting down traffic, and it makes more sense to me to protest outside of the companies making the bombs that are falling on Gaza, but if the protest is peaceful at a university, I'm not sure how some of these red states are able to claim that something like this would never be able to happen there.
For quite a while now though, I have been a huge supporter of the red states because they are fighting back against Biden and his open border policy plus all the other heavy regulations that the Federal governments wants to have over the states. But are these the same red states now that are essentially saying anyone who protests will be rounded up?
This is turning into one big mess, but at the same time, maybe it was just a pipe dream to assume that we could all get along. Different races and different religions clearly don't get along all that well when looking into the details, and this is especially on display when a bad financial environment hits. When we are all struggling to survive, our hind brain takes over and those instincts aren't pretty. They were necessary for survival, but expecting everyone to get along when so many people are hurting is unrealistic.

Biden should federalize the national guard there and deploy them to disperse- using tear gas if needed- anyone who is directly threatening the lives of someone based on their religion, race, or ethnicity- just as President Eisenhower did in Little Rock, Arkansas. In no way are the protesters peaceful and in no way are they allowing people of a specified religion access their homes (a/k/a college dorms) and schools for which they pay 90K a year to attend.
Peaceful protesters who are not involved in direct blocking of access to Jews attending their school, not blocking bridges and highways, etc. should be left alone. Although they can be required to follow police orders where their actions interrupt the safety functioning of the city.
Protesters have rights. So do the Jewish people.
These lefties threatening Jews and blocking them from university based on their religion would be crying like little pussies if someone were doing that to transgenders or one of their fifty or sixty protected groups.

This sounds fair. I haven't been paying too much attention so I didn't know that Jewish students were being harassed. I just saw a bunch of people being arrested and dragged away from looked to be just outdoor protesting.
But still, in the video clip with Netanyahu calling what is happening on US campuses to be horrific, its ironic considering he is committing genocide in Gaza.
Strongly agree but the difference with the southern states is that they're LESS tolerant and quicker to react to Anti-Israel protests or Pro-Palestinian marches that either call for the annihilation of Israel, attack Jewish students, or threaten Jewish students on their way to classes.
As an example, the University of Texas.
It took two students (just two) to make threats to Jewish students on their way to classes for Governor Abbot to react quickly and say the protestors “belong in jail” and hundreds of state troopers and local police — some on horseback — arrived on campus to disperse the Wednesday protest as it was quickly escalating.
It reminds me a little of the 2020 protests and a lot of the Vietnam protests with the help of my mom's documentary photography of the Vietnam protests when I was a kid...
I learned even when they say it's going to be a "Peaceful Protest"...it only takes a few bad characters to turn a crowd into a gang-like mentality of anger and threats. Just as bad, it only takes a few bad characters in the police riot line to turn the police into a gang-like mentality of anger and threats.
The most ironic part is many students in the Northern universities think the Republicans will handle the situation much better and plan to vote Republican while ignoring that the Republicans will crack down harder on the protestors than the hesitant / sit-n-watch / let them speak Democrats.
I've been saying for several months before October 7th, 2023...hell is going to break loose in America in the 2024 Presidential Election year. I do not plan to be in the States this fall of 2024 as the shit hits the fan.

There are a lot more public and private universities than the two above Universities but I think anyone understands how Republicans are reacting versus Democrats ironically while the Republicans need the young Democrat voters to bring in a Republican President to the Oval Office that will squash the young Democrat voters protests.

I would complete agree with this. Its one thing to protest dropping bombs on Gaza, but a Jewish student at a US University is in no way responsible for this.
I think you hit the nail on the head here. This is exactly what happens, on both sides.
This is a good plan.
The sad thing really is that if we are going to go down the conspiracy path, which doesn't seem so far fetched, the plan all along is to make people fight each other. Nobody is actually going after the root of the problem. The politicians are using taxpayer dollars to pay for the bombs, and American companies are making those bombs. But you see no protests against the politicians or the munitions companies. Rarely do I see in politics a mention of which senators vote for or against a certain law, so that you can at least know who is responsible. But even then, the amount of shit thrown into these laws is so exhaustive and varied, that you can't really vote for or against anything specific.
Yeah, that Iranian attack was really something. If you consider total failure as something.

The U.S. military defense department lobbyist groups are some of the most powerful lobbyist groups on Capitol Hill. They help ensure military contracts are approved and passed.
In fact, since 2016 after a 9-year decline, these lobbyist groups have been growing and becoming more powerful with strong support from certain congressional members on both sides of the tracks.
Ironically, what has been the message since 2016...defund NATO ???
My point is it's all political posturing and NATO is not the issue...it's the lobbyist groups in Washington D.C. that we'll never hear either political parties say "defund the lobbyist groups".

The harassment I saw was pretty tame. Not appropriate, but really, just kind of in your face stuff. No violence.
And for sure, some of the 'harassed' were poking around to get a reaction to TwitterPost about how bad the 'anti-Semites' are.
