Well, Bitcoin dropped to $60,500 earlier.
While I share your concern over the future of this great nation, I wouldn't exactly write Uncle Sam off so soon. Also if you truly think Bitcoin will go up to $1M as these Bitcoin fanatics (who I believe know nothing about how the market operates), then you will be sorely disappointed. First, the government will not sit idle and let that happen. Second, do you really believe Black Rock, Vanguard, and State Street (3 largest asset management firms in the world) are your friends and they're actually working in the best interest of Bitcoin? I have my doubts, which I've already alluded to in the Crypto Winter thread.
Ya, it sucks that Bitcoin is the only thing open right now. Its providing liquidity to people who are scared, and the US equity market is able to ride it out. Technically, bitcoin is superior because of how liquid it is!
I honestly don't understand why Blackrock gets so much hate. Its not like they own bitcoin. The owners of the ETF own it. If its a share, then maybe Blackrock has all the voting rights, but with Bitcoin, there are no voting rights. All they get is a fee for being the intermediary.
Trust me, Elizabeth Warren and Gary Gensler are working hard to discredit Bitcoin. But there are also many supporters. In the end though, the people will decide. I do think that at this stage, its worse ban bitcoin than embrace it. Can you imagine the US being left behind with something that might truly revolutionize the world? The US already can't make its own chips... does it really want to lose the fight on crypto if the world does truly adopt it? If you ban Bitcoin, you end up like North Korea, cut off from the rest of the world.
Plus, its not like US losses with a switch to bitcoin. It still has all the major resources it needs. Americans will have to work hard, but there is no shortage of energy, farmland, water, commodities, etc. If everything gets repriced in Bitcoin, the US can still prosper. All that happens is a shift of power.
The fight against bitcoin is really a fight by the elite over losing their power. All the smart traders here will still do well as markets will continue to function. All the business entrepreneurs who provide an important product or service will still continue to thrive in a bitcoin world. The only people who lose are the grifters. Yes, there are many of them, but not nearly as many as hard working people. It will be a major shift to go from expecting the government to give you free stuff to having to work for it, but its better than being a debt slave who can't even attain food or shelter. The goal is to show people how the current system is what's keeping them down. Government won't help, and in fact, the government keeps them down. But by helping to change the system, they will in fact guarantee their prosperity.
