Do not forget. The US armed forces are not properly trained to be police officers. If a real war breaks out in the middle east the firepower unleashed will make the WW2 B52 carpet bombing campaigns look like a water balloon fight. And the Iranian civilians will pay the price for their leaders miscalculations. Just the facts..not my opinion on how things should go down.

i saw a cspan show late last year where they had a 4 star Gen talking about just that issue.
his claim was that, once a uncalibrated war breaks out, or if US forces are engaged in one front and can't fight in the other, then the size of the US response will be very very large to compensate the lack of feet on the ground. but alas, it will not be as as precise. and then your claim about the civilians does come true.

It will not end with bombing, that is only the begining.
In the case of full scale warfare with a longtime enemy, potential nuclear threat and harborers of terrorists I would say the level of initial activity would pulverize all "Class A" targets and cripple infrastructure. The USA would not bother with any targets outside of populated areas. No sending troops into the mountains this time. Factories, farms, water supply, Mosques, airports and the like would be rubble in 48 hours. The Geneva convention would not exist during a full scale conflict with Iran. The Presidents goal would be to attack until they beg for mercy. And then keep on attacking some more. Once again..not how I would want to see it go down. Fact. This has been brewing for decades.
Ok, i`m done with this thread...i`m making myself sick to my stomach.
So the Genva convention is dead?
