True dat somewhat. If Israel wants to make a statement they will hit a nuke site or their oil depots. If Israel actually wanted to defeat Iran (they don't, that is not their plan) they would start with hamas and hezbollah first. They can't just skip over those essentially Iranian forces right on their border and start focusing on the Iranian mainland. Iran has this faux outrage that the last killing were in an embassy related building and maybe there is something to that but they won't always be able to play that card in future take-downs.
As far as targets that are vulnerable outside of Iran proper, the Israelis would hit the Iranian warships and intelligence gathering ships off Yemen supporting the Houthis and/or the Iranian owned and operated oil platforms in the Arabian sea. That would not be an attack on the Iranian soil but those are plenty decent targets and the isolation that you refer to works against them in that instance because they are pretty far removed from Tehran.
The thing that is messy is that Iran was responding to the killing of Hamas/Iranian commanders. And while it is messy and dangerous now, Israel is not even remotely done with killing Iranian commanders who were involved in the Hamas attack or current fight. Biden and others are acting as though maybe Israel did something and Iran did something so leave it along. Except Israel plans to take out lots and lots more Iranians on the ground in the region. Not sure that plays well back in Camp Jihad.
