Democrats base their votes on the wishfull thinking of a 90's America holding onto world leadership and power shortly after its Cold War victory. Send Obama to Iran and Iran will understand.
Of course, we had world influence when we won the Cold War. Then Clinton squandered it, so Bush inherited it and put him on the defensive all through his 2 terms.
