of course, scapegoats for the masses, there is some truth to that... also, islamic countries for the most part are way behind in terms of economic development, and at first glance, kneeling in the middle of the street facing mecca 5 times a day is hardly gonna help... but putting things in perspective, a 100 years ago most of those countries were still colonies or protectorates, became 'independent' again after WW1 / WW2... the french, brits had a lot to do with whats happening in palestine / israel up to today... (the balfour declaration)... not saying they were wrong... there were hard choices to be made and they made them...Quote from fhl:
What it all comes down to for some is that the reason arab countries are in such bad shape is because of israel and the US. They apparently believe that if there were no US or israel , arab countries would be peaceful and happy and prosperous. Most of us realize that their problems are of their own doing.
anyway, looking ahead, for israelis & arabs to live in peace again, there'll need to be agreement on jerusalem as well... the 'roadmap' is a good thing... there is hope... beyond the inflammatory rethoric i really dont think iran is intent on firing a nuclear weapon any more than north korea is... i wouldnt put as much faith in bush...
alright let me think now... so this guy is giving me a 3-year advance warning, right... mmmhhh, what does he really want?? cld it be that what he wants from israel is... 'regime change'??
