It's even worst than that. I got the errror 'Symbol not found' when trying to subscribe to one of the S&P 500 symbols. When it's happening my algo cannot be triggered. Sometimes it last several minutes before I can subscribe and it's always happening during high volatility. And during high vol, it's that time to make money...
I agree with you, it's not rocket science but your assumptions are all false. You have some stocks you'd like to buy on a downdraft after Fed, some you'd like to sell on an updraft. So you put in your limit orders and turn off your screen. It's not rocket science. But that assumes you have a clue and have a plan and have sufficient capital, rather than a "plan" of flailing around in the market using a broken data feed. Anyway, good luck to you.
You assume that I'm a discretionary trader, who don't have a clue of what he's doing, with limited capital, trying to make some money in buying and selling stocks on major economic announcement. I'm an algo trader, trading futures.
@Gambit: Thanks for the suggestions, but are Rithmic and TT more Trade Executing Platform rather than pure Market Data Feed?Use Rithmic or tt.
Affordable high quality options exist.
Pull data from their Api or use a front end to hook up to rithmic. Rithmic is more flexible. Pm jjw and speak to him. Rithmic diamond is an affordable mid tier solution w/ a robust feed. Iirc cqg has a data feed only option. You have to spend a little money but it won't be exorbitant. Look around. Be frugal not miserly and you should be able to find a solution. Good luck.@Gambit: Thanks for the suggestions, but are Rithmic and TT more Trade Executing Platform rather than pure Market Data Feed?
@debitspread: Still out in left field
