IQ Feed unreliable, any suggestion to replace it?

Since August 24, IQFeed is unreliable giving me 'Symbol not found' errors on many stocks part of the S&P500. It's happening in fast market, the worst time. I've been in contact with their tech support almost each day but nothing was done to fix this problem. So now I have enough.
I'm looking to replace it. Does anyone have any suggestion for a reliable feed available through an API and more or less at the same cost?

Reliability of the systems is one, if not the most, important aspect when doing day trading. IQFeed was good and reliable, but not anymore. I don't recommend IQFeed to anyone serious about day trading.
 
Interesting. I'm subscribing to this thread since I'm in the market for a feed in a not too distant future.

I was a happy IQ Feed customer in the past (futures trading) and the plan was to get back to them.

Have you considered CQG? It's supposed to be very good, but I suspect it may be a tad more pricy.
 
I used to be satisfied with them also (futures and stocks), but not anymore. I don't know what happened with them over the years.

Yes, I'm looking into CQG right now, trying to understand their pricing. But price is one thing and reliability is another thing and this is more difficult to assess. That's why I posted my question here.
 
I have subscribed up to 800 stock symbols using Tradelink in C# with minimal issues. But in the fast markets that have occurred recently, any feed is going to have issues as the NYSE/Nasdaq are just getting overwhelmed with volume. I have noticed very poor performance using charting based software such as Tradestation or Multicharts with just a few symbols. The next step up such as NXCore gets really, really expensive, so look at what you can simplify on your side before spending more $$.

I agree. With that type of high volume/volatility, it's normal to see delays in data transmission. The problem with IQFeed is not being able to subscribe to real-time data. They simply have a bug on their side and they are not willing to fix it. Sometimes it takes several minutes before being able to subscribe. In the meantimes, they are sending invalid error messages. They confirmed me that they have a problem. The workaround for me would be to modify my application, but if I need to do that, I'd rather change to another market data provider.
 
The statement "they are not willing to fix it" isn't accurate. There is an issue during extremely active market conditions that is affecting users who watch and unwatch symbols over and over as opposed to setting a watchlist and processing the data off the stream. Its appears to be affecting a few out of the thousands of customers we have. Regardless, we take EVERY issue reported by our customers seriously. Our engineers are currently testing a solution to this issue and hope to deploy it over the weekend if testing proves successful.
 
Well, the problem still exists, 3 weeks after I reported it. I don't call that 'willing to fix it'.
 
No offense rb7 and I can certainly appreciate your frustration that 3 weeks has passed with what may seem like zero response. It could be worse though, consider my case where I have been in a long standing issue with eSignal. I reported the issue to them back in May or June. Have sent them dozens of emails re-explaining the issue all the way up to Scott Johnson, the VP of data operations. They have confirmed there is a problem. They have done NOTHING to fix it. The last communication I had from them was from Scott Johnson claiming they were going to assign a team to fix it. That was over a month ago and still nothing. They are now refusing to communicate back to me.

If DTN expanded their exchange availability I'm sure eSignal would go out of business. They do have some really really odd exchange offerings, but I digress...

So it could be worse. I've used DTN in the past and while some issues with the feed did it exist, they at least addressed them and also communicated back to me. You are in better hands than any eSignal user is treated so take some solace in that.

Guess what? FOMC announcement, high volatility, iq feed not working, when it matters most. I don't care if they have problem at 6 am, but when things get tough, you need it working.
