IQ and trading

Amygdala stimulating is interesting. It is said to be like a switch that can activate the frontal lobes to a higher degree. Meaning more logical thinking, creativity and happiness.

You can directly exercise the amygdala with the "Ohm" chant. In stressful psychological situations ( eg. trades gone bad), use any slow breathing technique to bring your brain from the beta to the alpha state where you can process information more rationally.

Quote from MAESTRO:

IQ test is not a fair assessment of someone's ability to adopt to ever changing market conditions. Like a very astute pilot a good trader has to be assessed mostly by his/her ability to quickly react to the situation and the ability to rapidly come up with the decision on what to do next.

IQ test deals mostly with the amount of practical knowledge rather than with the decision making skills. I was an active member of MENSA association and took multiple IQ tests of different origin. I would apply none of them to assess a trader. :)

MAESTRO;

I was thinking like your timely MENSA/WOMANSA cartoon;
emotional discipline [0r EQ] more than IQ:D

They generaly pay the experienced pilots/captains more also;
some do use navigational charts/guidelines around mountains.

I love this. Took me about 5 minutes or so. I got serious about it when I read that someone picked it up after six throws or so. I haven't yet figured out how the name of the game is significant, though.

took me four rolls (it's 2 AM, so i'm a little slow right now :) ).

as for how the name is significant, think visually.

Quote from MAESTRO:

Genius! If it took you less than 15 min then your IQ is over 150. Now, don't explain please how you came up with those numbers, let others sweat a bit! :cool:

Hmmm, I came up with a different solution than this. Which one is "right?"

Quote from TGregg:

Dang, that took me 15 minutes. You can play it at http://www.borrett.id.au/computing/petals-j.htm

<1 minute
2 rolls

Notes;

I am not very clever. ( i did an IQ test once and rolled in at 132, so no super smart rating for me)
I did not cheat
I did not go university (HMMMMM)
Surely the name makes it so obvious?????

Just the markets, there is always a simple option

thanks for the thread - very interesting. By the way, on the first one at the beggining of the thread, I have no idea.

I don't see how you can have the answer and not figure out the name is important - it's vital.
