iPhone4 reception is perfect - unless you hold it in your hand

Wear a tin foil hat that will act as a high-gain, omnidirectional antenna! :D

Reception on the new phone is so poor, and not just from hand positioning, that I will be returning it in the next 2 days if something is not done. I have never returned an apple product and have two imac 24s, iphone, ipad, ipods, 2 powerbooks. What I will be doing is short selling apple stock. what a CF with this new issue.

Here's some stats on Data rates on my iPhone:

Using 3G with WiFi disabled

Sitting on my desk. DL - 2707 Kbits/Sec UL - 698 Kbits/Sec

Held in my hand: DL - 259 Kbits/Sec UL - 87 Kbits/Sec

Many times, the test would not even start when holding it my hand.

This is completely unacceptable ! ! !

silly people, you are forgetting about the iPhone glove! you mean you didn't get one? Guaranteed to boost reception by 300% or your money back.

My Son has the iphone 3GS. It's very cool, but I need a phone more than a pocket computer. I'm sticking with my old school blackberry 8700.
