Considering that the guy has 5 posts I would at least leave the benefit of doubt.
Anyway, since I don't follow a lot these nonsense threads and posts, I will assume that you are right, and in that case yes, I think I can see the irony.
But, if I just don't look at the irony, I would say that it's still a valid point. If you react to the bullshit you just feed it. Considering how difficult an effective ban is, I would consider the option "don't feed the trolls", which I think can be pretty good
