Hello,

Background:

24Male, from Michigan, currently living in Iowa.
I have always been interested in the stock market, and finance in general, it was also my major.

I have only traded for one year, I am poor. and try to save and add money to my trading account whenever possible. This account is funded with money I have left over after bills, rent etc.

Sports fan, love the cowboys, white sox, wolverines and redwings.

Trading techniques:

I trade only stocks and options.
Stocks are typically long-term, a few short.

Options are calls and puts.

I like to trade the trend; and fundamentals.

Goals:
Keep 10% in cash at all times
Always earn a yearly return greater than CD/Savings account.
Control risk by not trading more than 7% on any option trade.


Finally, please critique any trade in anyway you like, good or bad.
This journal is here from me to learn from my good and shit trades.

pretty crappy trade, got caught in a nice rally. I also added money to a losing position, and used a large % on my portfolio in this trade.

Bullish market, hyped up company. Figured i would be sure to sell before earnings, which was a good idea.

Sold mostly because GE earnings coming 4/16 made me nervous on the market. Was happy with the gain and didnt want to give too much back.

Held onto BP, COL still see abit more upside for BP, and hoping for continued upgrade momentum for COL

Bought this when it was down due to GS, It had nothing to do with GS figured since it would report it would go up. Sold before report, as I was happy with the profit made.

Was happy with profit made, also felt oil had risen enough for awhile

I was happy to make a small profit on this. I bought this call right after an analyst upgrade, it was far to expensive at that point. Pretty crap trade as I could have waited for pullback for a better entry point.

I did think MSFT would rally into earnings, which it did. I probably could have waited for it to breakdown abit longer. I could have also held this trade longer for more profit. In the end I was happy to just make money, although the risk was far to great for the amount made.

Shit trade, I am done with the company. Earnings brought the stock down 4% and thought it would go down further. I like the company but hate the stock and should have realized the stock may not see levels from earlier this year without something drastic happening.

Sold due to oilspill- no point in holding a newsworthy event.
