For Ninjatrader users:

If you have a trade placed with stops and targets, and your target gets hit, do you always have to cancel the stop order manually, or is there a way to make it cancel automatically?

I've had a couple occasions where I forgot to cancel the stop and price hits it at a later time, causing me to be in a trade I don't won't to be in.

Still holding some positions until I see the breakout move.......one more time up today with some solid initiated buying and I will just get out of the way and evaluate the situation. We are range trapped so far.....UUGH! :D

924-927 above is still the primary zone that I am watching.......this 911-914 zone has become an area of buyers exhaustion though and they just can't seem to get any continued initiated buyers up in this zone. :)

Thanks....i noticed after my last post that you already answered the Question I had.

you and your smiley faces. LOL

Yes make sure you always "clear" all your resting orders prior to shutting down your platform each time. :)

If you use the ATM to manage the trade, then yes. If you manually set the entry and stop and target with each trade, then no.

I always use the ATM and have default settings for target & stop. Once I get my entry fill, I will adjust the target and stop to what I want. This way I don't forget to cancel my stop order when my target hits. I've forgotten a few times on sim to cancel orders only to realize it a few days later and be down 60 points!! LOL

Sounds like you aren't using the ATM?

If you use ATM strategy with target/stop it should cancel your stop when target is hit. If you are using middle click for your stop limit order, I think you have to turn on 'oco'
