Intraday Trends

Hi all,

Question for you, when do stocks trend at their most powerful
during the day - at the open? - from 10:30 to 12? or near the close?

or does it depend ?

Thanks in advance

<-- still a novice

one thing i've noticed is that block-trades will typically get executed intraday, between 11 and 2:30 est. watch the 1-minute chart of the large-cap that you're interested in and watch for significant minute-over-minute moves.

i saw kerkorian buying back his shares 2 days before the press release - he screwed my 3-day gm short. (paybacks a bitch, eh kirk?? :))

another thing i've learned - most stocks always retrench, if you have the paitence.....

First AND last hour are keys, as are open & close price.

Watching, investing/trading a few stocks can help;
your written records can help with trends anytime also.

Generally speaking of course, but I think the smart traders and the professional traders do their business later in the day towards closing. I believe that knee jerk traders and amatuers are in or out at the opening.
