I am more a position trader, but currently trialling day trading the forex markets (hence my interest in your journal). That taunting dilemma you just experienced - will it or won't it - is one of the supreme mental tests of day trading. I think mastering this element is a key to trading profitably in day trading.

Yeah, the need to make decisions fast is what demands most skills in daytrading.

Usually my setups are pretty clear, but sometimes it really gets messy as yahoo noted...

Lately I tend to simply get out (especially if in some profit or a small loss) when situation gets uncertain.

nah you did fine but if you decide to position and B/e or play aggressive then you'll feel better. Position play if PIB... and if fairly confident of swing possibility

Close to position for continuation down but it's messy

Yeah, good idea. When I haven't earned anything for the day it's tough emotionally to ride the trade for long risking to b/e and exit with nothing.

But when made some profit, indeed, why not let some trade with a good potential to develop. I may not get my 4% in part of the trades, but also WILL get like 15 or more% on some trades. :)

trying for swings there are 2 must-take trades

others are iffy coz I was wanting more downside but the T/L is the issue.

Need a little higher for more energy down but long now looking short

CF,

I note in your profile you are a psychologist. Does your profesisonal background assist you in your trading endeavours?

I have a psychological education (university) indeed, but didn't practice a lot, so not a big specialist. :)

Though it probably helps me in the way that I always tend to deeply analyze myself and find the cause of one or another action.

based on 4 touches - trade what you see n not what you want

First is clear to me, took it actually, but second (long) I don't catch exactly is based on what...

How often are retests for bigger swings... Indeed it's worth to enter early to sit through these big retracements without fear of being in a deep loss.
