Hi Guys,

I am prop trader and my US based firm closed the door to Int'l remote traders due to new SRO restrictions.

What are your options for trading the US markets as a prop trader?

Who do you trade through?

Who can you recommend in the US?

Help appreciated.

What country are you a resident of? What asset classes do you trade? Do you require a prop firm or can you fund a portfolio margin account with your own capital. You can e-mail me the answers if you'd like.

I have base capital and Series 7. I am looking for a prop firm (K-1 structure).

I am already familiar with IB and equivalent client oriented firms that offer portfolio margin accounts

Hi,

Quite a few canadian firms offer decent payout 80-95% and lower commission than your firm. I'm in the same situation as you and thinking of joining a canadian firm. At current canadian accept foreigners, but you never know about the future.

When you say "lower commission than your firm," are you talking about my firm? Because I never discussed rates with you.
 
No, I haven't got the slightest idea about you firm. I'm thinking about the starter of this thread. I'm in the same firm as him.
 
You'll need to find a group operating abroad. Many CBSX firms provide services to overseas traders. Because the US can't regulate those who aren't citizens of the US, the firms typically charge a bit more for international side because of the additional risk.

Off the top of my head, I know the following groups supporting international traders:

Thanks for the replies so far.

I have been made aware of the Canadian deals.

My first priority has been to try to find a local alternative to my current deal. Just trying to gauge the extent of the reg change.

I guess if I am trading the US markets exclusively, it has made more sense to me until now to have the whole package in the US i.e. market access, software, support, taxes, etc. The simpler the better!

However, as the reg situation is changing quite fast then I guess the time has come to look closer to home.

Canada, Israel, Cayman Islands, etc are not realistic options for me as they bring in a lot of new issues with it.

The US markets are quite accessible from Europe as it is anyway. There are plenty of deals in the UK/London, Germany, Netherlands, etc. I just need to find a good one!

Hi Jose,

I'm also based in Europe trading mostly the US markets (and also in the same situation as you as regards the move to CBSX for our firm). Can you name some prop companies offering trading in both Europe and the US?

Appreciate your feedback.
 
try out MGB Trading. they offer remote and killer deals for solos
i just heard they are offering package deals for solos same as groups...

i think that is there strength, going for the trader instead of the pack which everyone fights for...

check them out if remote trading

you also have golden, globus, title the usuals but all generic
