Internships

Hello,
I am a sophomore in college, and I trade my own money. I hope one day to be trading on my own. I was thinking a good way to start would be to get a summer job or internship at a trading desk or with a hedge fund in New York. Does anyone have any advice on this?

You might read some of these help wanted ads. If you find something that interests you then contact them. Tell them what you want to do. Ask how you might get a job as an intern in a trading office.

The job descriptions and qualifications might give you ideas about what to study.

I have heard from other people to major in philosophy instead. Why is that if your trade at home or retail a death sentence? Thanks for input so far.
