Internet Connection Failure

Quote from chippyanderson:

I pay $150 a month for a screaming server. I7 core...8gb ram, etc etc. well worth it to not lose internet connection. Way too many times have I lost $1k on a 10 minute internet disruption. Server is the only way to go!!!

Except if the server fails you still have significant downtime.

Its called a server for a reason, not ADSL or road runner cable lol.

Trading "Professionals" trying to debate that their retail cable modem is more reliable then a SLA backed ,redundant UPS , multi homed connection datacenter server. makes me laugh hard.

This is a cloud service or something?

not sure on the lingo about cloud service, but I just connect using the "windows remote connection" through windows 7. They gave me an IP address with a password and it works like a normal computer. No lag time or anything like that. I tried a few others before but the lag was horrible...like a few seconds or a second, and I couldn't stand that.

I can connect to it wherever there is internet.
