from experience using both esignal and qcharts, i'll say that there are a few improvements that esignal could use for most experienced and active traders. first, the floating window idea(where one can take a chart and put it anywhere on a screen...among multiple monitors even) needs to be incorporated into qcharts. secondly, the data feed for esignal needs to be improved for extremely active traders.
however, where qcharts is vastly superior is the layout and interface of charts, the use of hotlists, the ability to add may more crucial components to worksheets(such as net since open), and the HOTLISTS. For active traders, the very short term up and down filters are very useful.
i hope there is work on a hybrid of the two and a meshing of good qualities of each platform.
