Interactive Brokers Sponsoring Seat Lease

Anyone have any luck with interactive brokers sponsoring a CME seat lease? I trade around 20k contracts a month, mostly ES, NQ and the treasury futures and haven't had much luck with them offering to sponsor me unless I have a very large account equity, many times over the value of the seat. I also trade some equity ETFS, FX (both futures and spot) which makes it tough to find a broker that supports it all. Looking forward to hearing about anyone's experience with IBKR and am all ears for any other ideas as well.
 
I was told by a couple leasing brokers that the lessors require a guarantee from the FCM in order to lease a seat to me. It would be great if this isn't accurate? I have no interest in buying a seat.

You do not need your FCM to sponsor you. You contact CME Membership, buy or lease a seat, then provide your FCM, in your case IB, your member acronym to get clearing discounts.

I took it as him meaning IB paying for his seat. Like pro sports sponsorship, heh.
 
I suggest you contact CME membership directly and confirm that. An IOM seat lease would cover your ES and NQ. Start with that. https://www.cmegroup.com/company/membership/individual/cme.html.

You do 20 000 sides/mo so you will earn money by leasing a seat by yourself. What do I not understand here ?
 
I heard that in order to lease a seat, your FCM must guarantee the seat value to the lessor. IBKR wants a really large equity cushion to do this even though the seats I'm looking at are around 40k to 200k.
