How many of you guys trade through IB and is your starting commission rate $0.70 per contract?

I traded there before and that was my rate for smart routed orders. When I used DMA for complex orders, they charged me $1.00 per contract.

It's 0.7 for everyone per options contract, but a $1 minimum.

So two contracts are $1.4. For options that are less than $0.10 the comms are lower but the minimum is the same. Look at the link.

I assume you're asking about options since you said "contract". Anyway, it's all on their site, if you know how to use a browser you'll get your questions answered rather quickly.

But can som1 explain to me how the data fees work. Do you get free data after clocking up a certain amount of brokerage fees?

And is this access to all data available on all markets?

basic data fee is $10/month.....unless you rack up 30$ in commissions each month...in which case the fee is waived.
