Interactive Brokers min 100 shares NYSE

IB is a direct access broker attempting to service active traders. It can not and does not attempt to provide solutions for all types of traders if it is to mainain the 1/2 penny to 1 penny per share fees. Some compromises must be made. So, if you're looking to trade BRK, you'll have to go elsewhere - unless you've got the really big bucks.
I would pay triple those commisions to trade a stock with a 600 dollar spread:)

The following is now posted on the IB site

For NYSE Stocks

All order types are accepted through Smart Order Routing (non-marketable orders will not be routed to the NYSE).

Only marketable orders are accepted through direct order routing to the NYSE.

At least for expensive stocks would be to maintain a DATEK or other account. This is also a solution for those times you feel compelled to trade size in, say, a penny stock and are concerned about commish.
