Can we trade single stock futures for AAPL if we wanted to YOLO really badly?

Would IB close the entire position? Or would they reduce its size until the resulting position meets the margin requirements?

They just reduce it, in the least abrasive way possible (according to them) until the account is margin compliant.

@digitalnomad and @destriero thank you for your reply. I was of the same opinion as you. Which is why I was surprised to see the reply that IB would close the position.
