been wierd as of late to modify my account.... dont agree with it.... i have not modified anything with that account as far as i know.

can you tell me what modification has been made?

this in response to email from ib whiich read as follows:


"We have received your request to create or modify functions for your account UXXX512. In order to complete this request, please enter the following confirmation number into the request form.

Confirmation Token....end quote"

i never requested any change of of functions of accounts... think its wierd....im new hear with few posts... perhaps someone with lots of posts could chime in on this as my posts take forever to post on this forum......probably due to my few posts

Could be a witch hunt with IB but I've been concerned about them for awhile, mainly because I view their management as secretive, they have lots of international exposure, they have the most favorable margin rate in the industry (a downside for me) and I just can't get as much of a handle on them as I'd like to. I didn't like the recent stock exchange issue.

So, I recently moved the IRA out of there because that is the account that takes the longest to transfer though it only took a few days. Unfortunate because I love day trading several hundred shares of X stock for a $1 commission, using Buttontrader.

Never had a problem with them on wiring money out; near instantaneous.

Still have a cash/margin account with them as I figure I have a good chance to quickly bail with that if I get wind of anything alarming with them. Of course, if it's overnight and/or sudden then ....

Anyone else with an opinion on IB's financial health and risk?

Last year, they were within hours of buying MF Global, which is now bankrupt with over a billion dollars still unaccounted for. Talk about risky business....
