Interactive Brokers for day-trading Futures?

Really? Ninjatrader is similar... can't really find an all-in rate with AMP and Lightspeed... maybe I should review again...

I can tell only what I see from my statements...Through AMP with CGQ data feed, YM is $1.78 per side all-in, NQ is $1.80 per side all-in.

This is a thread about day trading futures at IB. My original post was in line with the topic, as it was a directed at a poster making a claim that IB is the least likely FCM to blow up. I pointed out that was opinion, using past blowups, NO MATTER THE CAUSE, illustrating events of well known, well respected firms do, did, and can happen. You assholes want to challenge history, have at it. Plenty of material on the internet to support whatever claims or arguments you want to make. I could care less. I am not an IB client now or have ever been. IB is no more likely to thrive or fail than any other FCM with similar resources.

Cheers.

Hmm... I pay 2.05 with IB.

What do you pay for connectivity etc?

@TDMA what on earth has Monaco got to do with this... are you sure your little rant shouldn't be in some cryptocurrency thread?

Experience always aces theory, you do realise this is about futures not cryptos. I'm starting to wonder if IB indirectly participates in these forums, it would match their marketing approach, one moment, right, there is more at play here with IB than meets the eye.

that SPI (ASX) fee alone would have saved me 10k since July.... :wtf:
That's the biggest difference though...

I need to seriously review...

Perhaps a little less time posting and a little more time researching constantly moving financial markets and you would be up another $10k, I already use AMP because I did my diligence, but each to their own.

I've got other things to do than to switch brokers every 6 months. And I'm not convinced yet that AMP suits me. But each to their own indeed.

If you use Reatlick, no "routing" fee. They charge a monthly fee only. What you call a "routing" fee is really a fee from the platfrom like CQG, CTS T4, TT, etc. The platforms make their money from that fee, so they charge that and we and every other broker passes through that cost. It can range from $0.10 to $0.30. It is the price you pay to get access to a professional futures platform.

Beginner's question, but how are you defining "platform"? I take it to mean "software" being used, and therefore would think of Ninjatrader as a platform. But Ninjatrader uses Continuum or Rithmic to route orders, and I assumed the fee goes to them even though customers are using the Ninjatrader software.

For Lightspeed, do you offer retail traders access to an API for sending orders without the need of a platform? Or can you only use Lightspeed with a commercial platform?

I’ve only traded equites with IB. How do they compare to other futures brokers in terms of execution speed and order routing? Any advantage here?
