Interactive Broker TWS - Snapshot Popup

Hi,

From last week, I am getting consolidated Snapshot window popup each time I put ticker or change buy/sell on same ticker. It is very irritating as I have to close the window and also there is snapshot charges. Is there any way to disabled this feature? ANyone else getting annoyed with it?

I chatted with support chart- he mentioned no way to disabled it and snapshots are free. I shared link showing it is not free after $1.00, and main thing is it is irritating. TWS is also popping up window mentioning it is not free.

I only really do my trades with TWS. Didn't know you now get 100 free snaps each month though. I do love how the costs in the business seem to keep going down which is great.

There are a lot of cheap-skates I know who would run Questrade right beside IBKR, and keep hitting refresh on the former to get infinite free snaps. Haha.

One of these days, we'll all get free Level-II trades.
 
well, i think they are charging it from every corner. I do multiple trades each day, so after making good money on commission, now they want to make it on snapshots too now. On top of that, their support is look like providing wrong information. I really care less about the charge but it is very irritating as it adds a step in the process to close the window. Also, they added ask-bid price table now while putting LMT and STP price, which sucks. They are breaking good working product for nothing.

Technically, they've always charged for that IIRC. Over just the last few years they've been cutting and slashing fees/commissions left and right. I think it's a bit unfair to start complaining at this point. Who else gives you such amazing margin and other opportunities that more than pay for themselves. I've compared them to standards like TastyWorks, etc. IBKR comes out ahead.
