I have recently started using IB for trading in futures (I am new to trading). I have read the discussion posts here on ET on data feed for IB. I have a few questions and I would appreciate your feedback.
1) IB has its own data feed and I have subscribed to their data feed. I have read a few posts here that their data feed is not reliable. I am not sure why this is not reliable. Is there a delay or time lag in getting real time data?
2) If I use quote tracker with IB to improve data feed, will it be better than IB data. On the QT website I saw that I need to subcribe to data providers like esignal or IQfeed with subscription for data. I am not sure what the QT does? Does it just provide a software user interface to connect data source (e.g., IQFeed) and trading platform (IB). So, if I go the QT route, will I have to pay for QT subscription and subscription for one of the data feed providers like IQfeed?
Thanks in advance for your feedback.
