intenet provider for home trading

Boy, I really feel sorry for you guys. Here in Japan
most of us have optical fiber connections with up
and down speed of 100Mbps for just $30 a month.
True, to send an order, 100Mbps or just 1Mbps makes
no difference. But on one connection I run 3 computers
with 5 monitors with eSig, IB and 3 other big local
platforms plus IE and OE. All run solid as a rock!

Hope you guys get there someday.

Yea but my two car garage is bigger than your whole house, provided you own one and not some small dingy apartment that needed a 40 year mortgage to pay it off. I will not even mention the backyard, or the front yard.... garage will do.:D :D :D

40 yr mortgage? that' just enough for 2nd mortgage. Try a 3 generation mortgage.

but on the other side, a lowly secretary makes US$80k a yr.

and not to forget IB's T1 line that connects directly to one of IB's Data Centers

I'm not sure that I understand the difference between a dedicated line and extranet. In both cases, do you need to pay for your own T1 line? Are both options simply a more direct connection to IB's servers than the public internet?

I think T-1 is overrated. I had that where I used to work...my cable line at home is more reliable and faster for $50 a month. T-1 is like 8X that.
