Quote from stu:
Then by definition there is something God cannot be. God cannot be limited.
God is not limited, by definition. God cannot be limited by something outside of God.
Some will then argue that God must not be omnipotent, because there is something that God cannot do, but an omnipotent being could never limit Himself by definition. To think that an omnipotent being should be able to limit Himself is daft. God is limitless, without limits, unlimited, not bound by human concepts of time and space.
An omnipotent being should be able to create a stone so heavy that He cannot lift it?
That is another absurdity.
By more definition, there are things God cannot do. He cannot take from outside Himself. He cannot be greater. By definition , God cannot take +1 from outside Itself.
There is nothing outside of God by definition, therefore there is nothing to take outside of Himself which is not in Himself to add to Himself. The whole notion of "taking something from outside Himself" is an absurdity, as it implies that there is possible something outside of God, which by definition is not possible. Which is why the idea of taking +1 from somewhere that is outside of God and adding it to God to create an equivalency with something that is outside of God called Gilbert is an absurdity.
"God IS limited."
No, by definition God is Unlimited.
"By your own definition, you have shown how God is is not complete, how God is limited, how therefore God can be added to."
No, you must be confused. My definition is that God is complete and cannot added unto from outside, as there is nothing outside of God. It is not possible to add to something that is complete, which already contains everything.
Even the thought of subtracting from God is absurd, because there would be no place to put what was subtracted outside of God. Nothing is outside of God by definition.
Then perhaps it's time for a re-think.
Yes I agree, you really do need to re-think.
