Intel says NYC trader expo empty

Virtu, Getco, Etc., and the corrupt SEC put most of the humans out of business.

Yeah. Something def changed-- i watched the expo change from an interesting event with a wide cross section of attendees to nothing but retirees / ancient citizens and degenerate gambler looking folks. Heck, one guy was running around like a manic street preacher trying to save attendees from day trading.

Then it changed again to 90 % plus Forex dealers with cute booth bunnies and all kinds of swag. But each year, i noticed less and less people.

I quit going 2 years ago, but just heard the place is empty.

Just look at the picture. Looks like some guy is flashing floor signals to an empty floor.

I suspect a big part of the reason for the trend in lower attendance is the greater availability of webcasts, videos, and other online resources you can access more conveniently.

Plenty of conferences do well, even with the internet. I bet the internet has been a boon to conferences/expos because you meet the people you only know from the internet.

The crazy mid/late 90's was Trading's peak. :confused::cool:
Alot of people's, or the public's, perception with trading has been greatly tarnished or jaded by the dot com and housing bubbles.
They quickly realized nothing lasts or goes up forever, and they're rather very vulnerable and not bullet proof. :vomit:

Yeah, I use to host "surf fests" in conjunction with the expo in NYC-- we would get around 50 or so dropping by throughout the evening--- it was great meeting folks from ET--
