Reading user comments appears that a previous bug was fixed by a recent firmware upgrade. Be sure to download it from Intel if it's not already on the drive.

Intel's SSD Toolbox 3.01 has a "firmware update" feature... no need to download separate file nor create boot disk/USB drive.

yeah. couple stories scare s**t out of me. i'm planning to keep a image copy on separate HD anyway,which will be off during the day.
