Can't insiders just collar their shares? Basically they are selling but they don't have to report it. There are other ways around but I guess it is not that widespread. I guess I'm just a little skeptical that such a clear bell is ringing and no one has responded. But it is possible.

I think they can just sell their stock back to their companies and not report if for a year still.. like tyc. Gotta love the insider purchases that they filed and then sold it back to the company and didn't have to file those.

The Emulex chairman was on CNBC today announcing his companys move to NYSE (from NASDAQ). He said "The reason for the move, quite frankly, is quality.".
Whatever that means.
The interviewer asked him "by the way, I noticed that you sold 65,000 shares of company stock on June 16. Why?"
He said that "they were just normal planned sales".
