Actually, initially (please read the first paragraph with question marks), it is a question about the way Baron responds to Overnight about a complaint/use of the report button.

Overnight has implied several times in the past, he has private conversations with "Baron". I have never implied such nor stated such in my reply to Overnight. In addition, your takeaway (your response) seems to be that I have implied or stated that Baron is a friend or father figure...

I have not. In fact, I believe I'm older than Baron. Thus, not possible for him to be a father figure to me.

Also, I'm not comparing Overnight conversations with Baron to my conversations. Instead, I'm comparing what Overnight stated in comparison to what other members have stated.

Do you need more "calibration" (sarcasm) ???

Well, I think you think some assume Baron is always watching.

In contrast, I hope you realize you're posting here in the feedback threads for Baron/Magna to get feedback from members about what's happening at their forum.

The purpose of the "report" link at the bottom each message post is so that members can alert Baron/Magna to problems at the forum because they do not have the ability to monitor (watch) each message post or every thread.​

In my opinion, you should be more concerned about the number of threads created by someone instead of the number of times Baron's name is written by each member. By the way, I believe I've only created one thread here in the feedback.

Seriously, you seem to enjoy counting...count the number of threads in this feedback section by others in comparison to my one thread that was posted several years ago...maybe back in 2021 about images.

Because it's easy to set up an alert to have a thread ping you when you @Baron if you want him to take a look; much like a hashtag in twitter does. Just don't be a dick and abuse it like I just did making the feature worthless.

What do you mean by you've "gotten feedback from him" (Baron) after you used the report feature ???

I can shed some light on this. Most members report posts that are clearly out of bounds in some way. So when we take action, we don't usually confirm that we took that action with the member that reported the problem.

However, Overnight and a few other members will often report problems that aren't so obvious to the average member. An example might be something like this... "You might want to cross-reference this member with this other member, because they seem like they could be the same person."

Another example might be, "Hey, this thread was posted in the Trading forum but it should probably be moved to the Index Futures forum."

In either case, I can investigate what's being reported and our system gives us the ability to send back a message as an alert, similar to how you would see a number at the top right of the screen here on ET indicating the various alerts you have. It's just that one of those alerts is a confirmation message from me.

So sometimes I might investigate an issue and then send back an alert saying, "You're right. Those members are the same person." or "Good spot on that thread. It's been moved to Index Futures."

I don't always send back alerts regardless of what was reported. But on occasion, I do it when I am really appreciative of the member helping me keep things organized or simply pointing out something that I would have never known about otherwise.

And Innervoice is relatively mild
