Information on Series 3 Exam

I just called a Prometric testing center and they said that a calculator would be "provided for me". so I assume that I can't bring my own.

This is a problem because I don't know how to use a standard calculator. i've used only RPN for as long as I can remember.
 
is the series 3 sufficient to become a legit CTA in the US, and trade futures options fx equities bonds etc on behalf of clients, or is more required?

You have to pass the Series 3 first, then to register with the CFTC and to become member of the NFA ($750/year), and to draft your first disclosure documents describing your strategies/investments to be a legit CTA in the US, trading futures, options and FX on behalf of clients.


You may not need to register (there are several exemptions from registration), but to become a CTA who manages real money and wants to promote himself as a CTA, you would need to register with the CFTC/NFA.
