Here's an inflation busting car to counter all the US guzzlers.
The new Volkswagen Polo Bluemotion
70 miles to the gallon. Reckon it will be a BIG seller and should hold its price on the 2nd hand market very well.
If you currently drive a big car and have plenty of money then why not buy this to take the kids to school and run quick errands around town?
Coming to the UK in the summer, donj't know about the US but I would expect to see a trend of these styles of cars over the next several years (all over the world).

In order to bring this threat back to it's track, it's worth mentioning that migratory restrictions do tend to have an inflationary effect as they keep wages artificially high, and that eliminating such restrictions would have a deflationary effect reducing costs throughout the economy.

The bulk of the inflationary effects of oil doesn't come from cars but rather from increased costs in logistics that translate in higher prices of most goods [transportation of goods becomes more expensive... cargo ships, and trucks run on oil...]
