Not sure of your fixation on tampa, but here is the 12 month avg retail gas price for the whole of the nation (which is a tad more relevant).

That was quite the drop in prices late last year. I do recall all your posts then, celebrating the good news.

As for Tampa, yes, I live in Tampa. Perhaps I misunderstood all along. I had thought that you were saying that "inflation was at 53 year lows" for all of the United States. Were you just referring to Tampa? Was this thread all along about the situation in Tampa? If so, my mistake!

Tampa is relevant because you live there. And prices are not always rising there. So you don't have it as rough as one would think you do from your posts.

I'm glad you are so concerned about my welfare! It warms my heart to know you're watching all the price stats in my vicinity to warn on potential inflation threats in the Tampa area. However, it isn't really relevant for the discussion on the US inflation rate. So let's try to do our best to stay relevant, k?

I don't have it anywhere as rough as the average person because inflation is has no where near the impact to my spending - because of my significantly higher income. But that doesn't mean I shouldn't be concerned about the impact on the poor or less fortunate. Isn't that what your party stands for?

Let's assume that real inflation is and has been 20% higher (!) than that officially reported for the last 53 years. That would mean the 53 year low, reported at the time I made this thread, was... still the 53 year low.

Let's assume that real inflation is and has been 20% higher (!) than that officially reported for the last 53 years. That would mean the 53 year low, reported at the time I made this thread, was... still the 53 year low.

So we're to assume the 20% number is a standard number to be applied across the years - evenly (lol again), without regards to adjustments in the inflation rate, or the fact that your 53 year low measure excluded food and energy (but you want to talk energy later when it shows good numbers if you zoom in (lol a fourth time)? How convenient!

Condescending yambaggery. Even if inflation is really much higher than officially reported, it was, when this thread was created (more than a year ago), at a 53 year low. And prices will still rise even if inflation is low.
