Inexpensive iPhone 5 screen repair?

Quote from stock777:

The price is kept artificially high by crapple controlling the availability of parts.

This is one reason I never buy their overpriced junk

See an aapl owner, see someone that doesn't respect their money.

There is a solution to not buying the expensive parts from Apple. Buy the parts from a 3rd party manufacturer.

$8.95 for the glass screen on EBAY, plus you get all the tools for free, plus free shipping. Can't beat that.

Or you could sell your iphone to nextworth. Currently they pay $204 for a fully working iphone 5 (16gig) with cracked screen. About 15% less if its a sprint phone.

"Outer glass only, does not include digitizer or LCD"

And why are they charging so much to repair it if its only the glass.

AAple are in the biz of milking their customers.

I don't know how you define robust but my iphone does the job too and is easy to use and zero learning curve when upgrading phones or problems transferring info and programs. Kinda expensive if you buy the latest model but I always buy one back technology which is a lot cheaper and for me works.

robust = drop it on concrete 2x from 1m (3ft) height and there is no damage at all.

My Iphone 3gs passed that test and a few others on the job but she finally shattered so I moved up model. Years ago I was on the ridge of a steep roof and my Kyocera phone slid all the way from the top about 35' off the ground and onto the back porch and didn't hurt it. Another time I dropped it getting on a ladder and it fell about 18' straight down on the hard ground again kept on ticking. I called that phone the brick.
