Indymac shares, from $50 to 28 cents; why would Freddie/Fannie be different?

People are lined outside of Indymac bank in Pasedena, CA to get their money back.. I mean people literally line up for hours to get their deposits back. People with more than FDIC's guarantee of more than 100K are getting 1/2 of the amount that exceeds 100K. I'd be very pissed if I had millions in there. where the hell are people supposed to keep their money if not banks?????

Even better, put it in oil futures... ohh wait no... that'll make you an evil speculator... better put it in the bank... banks never fail, they're safe.
