I'm not sure they make it work. Depends how you define work. All that is moot point anyway. We have a broken system becasue we don't address health care cost, just insurance cost. In King Obama's world we would all be driving government mandated electric cars that didn't work right, and had a 3 month waiting list to get one. We'd be paying 200K for the cheapest model, and he'd be telling us all was right in the world cause the insurance was "only" a hundred bucks a month, and "low interest" financing was availble if you qualify.

I'd like to stick to this part. By work, I mean everyone has access to basic and acute care without having to pay huge deductibles, or having to go bankrupt, or having to work for a large employer. I ask from the perspective of a person employed in Canada, where everyone gets that (employers also contribute), and where the wealthy are still free to get more care elsewhere if they so choose. Sure, there's no perfect system, but before Obamacare our system was a wreck for too many. After Obamacare, the jury is still out so I won't say.
